What Size Dog Bed Does Your Dog Need?
The best way to determine what size dog bed your dog needs is to measure them from head to butt while they are laying in their favorite sleeping position, then add about seven inches. The more space they take up while sleeping, the bigger size dog bed you'll need.
When in doubt between two sizes, always choose the larger bed - regardless of dog bed type. No one likes their tootsie hanging off the bed!
The below chart is a good starting point for you to estimate what size dog bed your pup needs.
Dog bed sizes:
Small 26”
Sample Breeds - Bichon Frise, Italian Greyhound, Maltese, Pekinese, Pomeranian, Toy Poodle, Yorkshire Terrier, Chihuahua, Shih Tzu, Dachshund.
Medium 34”

Why Buy a Quality Dog Bed?
A good quality bed will incorporate higher quality filler material to support your dog. It should provides your dog musculoskeletal support for their bones and joints, and keep them comfortable. For older or ill dogs this is especially important. Often low quality beds lack the loft and softness needed by your dog for a comfortable snooze, not to mention they are usually destroyed more easily. The last thing you want your arthritic or old dog doing is getting injured by jumping off a bed or couch.
It also provides them with insulation from both the heat of summer and the cold of winter. A dog bed also gives your pup a place where they can curl up and relax in the security of their own space.
Having a designated spot for your pup to sleep also contains shedding and dander by keeping it in one central spot, on the bed. With a fully washable bed, you can easily rid the allergy offenders by merely washing the bed versus having to clean all the furniture and bed linens in the house. Of course, laying a binky over you covers if your dog insists on getting on your bed also helps with fur and dander control.

For Ordering Standard Sizes Please Order By Length Only Enter size Only Do Not Enter Neck and Girth Measurement.
Size 6 is available but will be considered custom. There are no returns on size 6 with the exception of a defective product. Size six will fit a dog from 12 oz to 1 lb.
Please order custom for all others including Dachshunds, For dachsunds we must use custom for correct fit on the belly tabs. When ordering your dog clothing, please send an email to customercare@shawnmichelepets.com if possible with the type of dog you have and the proper measurements. How to Measure Length
Measure from the neck to the base of the tail (or where you would like the garment to stop along the back).
Bottomline
Measure the distance between the back of the foreleg and the front of the hind leg.
Neck Measurement
Measure the circumference of the neck.
Girth /Chest
Measure around the ribcage, at the widest area (not behind the front legs).
Height
Measure from the top of the shoulder to the floor.

XX-Small - Fits 2-4 lbs. dogs and puppies or kitties. Teenie and adorable.
X-Small - Fits around 4-7 lbs. or 8-10" waist. A wee bit bigger than teenie.
Small - Just a bit smaller than Gidget (who thinks of herself as the "perfect size"). 8-11 lbs. or so with a 11-13" waist.
Medium - Perfect for Gidget-sized dogs, around 13-18 lbs. with a 14-16" waist.
